Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Nursing, Pune, was established on 26th September 1992 under Pune University, headed by Dr. Maj. (Mrs.) Tapti Bhattacharjee. College of Nursing became a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) in 1996.
It is the first private college to provide various academic offerings in Nursing from GNM to Ph.D. The college and its degrees have approval and recognition of the Indian Nursing Council, as well as the Maharashtra Nursing Council.
Got "A" Grade Accreditation by NAAC, Bangalore in 2004 Under BVDU and was reaccredited with "A" Grade by NAAC, Bangalore in 2011.
Realizing the pressing need for trained nurses for the expanding health care systems at both regional and national levels, Bharati Vidyapeeth established this fullfledged Degree College of Nursing in 1992. It offers a four year Course leading to the B.Sc. Nursing Degree. It was then the first college of nursing in the non governmental sector in Pune.
